Found this in an OE group: In Outlook Express, try going
to Tools | Options | Read and unchecking "Read all messages?
in plain text". See if the imported messages show in HTML now.
That's been done. If I d/l the message from the server into
Outlook, HTML content is there. Same with OE. It's only
when importation is done from Outlook to OE that the
HTML is stripped off. I've been noodling over this for about
a year now, and have been unsuccessful in figuring out what
is the cause and possible solution, if any.
My first thought was that this has something to do with the
Outlook security patch, which may view the HTML content
as a malicious "forwarding." But there is no user control over
this, AFAIK.
I know your question had partly to do with Outlook, but since
it was mostly an Outlook Express issue, this forum really isn't
the best place to look for answers, as many of us here don't
have extensive OE knowledge. For future help with your OE
questions, try an OE newsgroup such as ....
I have posted a similar question in OE groups, to no response,
unfortunately. It's probably an arcane issue nobody is
very concerned with, so it'll go unsolved, I guess.
I was hoping someone might know of a hotpatch or
registry hack that would tell Outlook not to pull the HTML
off when an import request was received, or conversely if
the problem is in OE, not to strip it off upon import.
I have not had the problem importing email from other
programs than Outlook, which led me to believe the problem
lay there.
Thanks again for your responses.
