Read all of the post on similar subjects but still unable to accomplish this.
I have my Outlook backup pst file from the old computer on a CD. When I try
to open the data file from the CD I get the same file access denied and
permissions message that others have mentioned. Original data from Outlook
2002 transfering to 2003. Thanks.

You cannot open a .pst file on a CD. Copy the .pst file onto your hard
drive, remove the "Read Only" attribute and then open the .pst file using
the File > Open menu commands in Outlook.

OK - what am I mising here. If I'm just copying ite pst file onto the hard
drive, I'm not accomplishing what I set out to do, and that's copy the file
to another computer.

If you copy the .pst file onto the hard drive of the new computer, isn't
that what you're trying to do?
