Importing Resources Only

Dmitriy

We have set up a Project Server 2007 and I am looking for a way to import
just resources not the "Whole Migration" from Project Server 2003 enterprise
resource pool, to project server 2007. Maybe even if possible one by one. In
this process we are hoping to clean up our Resource pool and make it as
acurate a possible... If anyone has any suggestions, I will appreciate it.

Resources and the EGT are imported the 1st time a migration is run. You'll
need to specify in the .ini file NOT to import projects. Run lots of dummy
migrations (with the verify option) and definitely clean up the resource
database before hand.

Dmitriy:

Open a new blank project from your 2003 server. Use build team to add as
many of the resources as you'd like to import into the new system or add all
of them. Expose the fields in the Resource sheet view that you want to
capture and save this as an mpp file. Edit to your heart's content until
you're ready to use the import resource to enterprise wizard.
