Importing text file data

I am working on importing a data file in ASCII format from
an IBM mainframe system. When I import the data into
Excel, it imports the entire file into one row.
What "character" is Excel looking for to indicate the end
of each record?

ASCII 10 - a line feed.

Either a carriage return (ASCII 13) or line feed (ASCII 10)
