Importing Visio Data to Connect shapes

I know that Visio can import data from spreadsheets. I have only seen
examples where the spreadsheet contains attributes or information about a
shape (ex. name, quantity, time, etc.). Is it possible for to have visio
automatically build a diagram and create connections between shapes based on
data in your spreadsheet?
