Hey everyone!!
I just got a new computer today and I don't know how to get my old emails
and contacts imported over from my old computer to my new one. Can anyone
tell me how?

But I guess I should have mentioned that I know nothing about this kind of
stuff. I read the link you sent me, but unfortunately don't understand it.
Can you simplify?

First, let's be sure that we are talking about Microsoft Outlook, not
Outlook Express.

Outlook uses one or more PST files to store all data, including mail and
contacts. Open Control Panel -> Mail, then click on 'Data Files'; it
will show you the name(s) and location(s) of your PST file(s). Click on
'Settings' to get the full path and file name(s).

These are the files you must copy to your new computer. Make sure that
Outlook is closed when you copy the file(s). If you use a read-only
medium such as a CD-ROM to transport the file(s) to the new computer,
you must remove the read-only attribute before you can open the file(s).

You used the word "import" in your post; do not use the 'Import'
function, just use Outlook to open the file(s): File -> Open -> Outlook
Data File.

Hi deb,

Outlook store alle emails, contacts, calendar items in one file, normaly
named "outlook.pst".

"Word" save documents in .doc files, "Excel" in .xls files. Outlook all
items in ".pst" files.

If you want to move your emails from one PC to another, you only need to
move a PST file from one PC to the other.
