improve drawing capability in word

Drawing in Word is terrible. Make it more like AutoCAD with the ability to
"pick" line and curve ends so drawing objects can line up. Add the ability to
draw true arcs. Add a real querry function

hh - but if I could!

There are several reasons why I cannot use a graphics program as you suggest.

1. My employer is really cheap and won't spring for 4,500 copies of a good
graphics program.
2. Over 50 other individuals will contribute to the documents I create by
the time they are published. All must have the ability to modify any entries
that I make; ergo we all have to have the same software. See note 1.

I appreciate the difficulties of providing a product that is all things to
all people. However, the last few upgrades have made Word the poster child
for feature bloat. So why didn't Microsoft "bloat" into a better graphics
program? We sort of have a "dummying down" of documents in America to
compensate for our poor education system, with graphics added to help those
who cannot read. If Microsoft really wanted to improve their product, here is
an area that is sorely lacking.

Why not instead tell AutoCAD to add Word Processing capability? Or tell your
boss not to expect miracles from a Word Processor. I don't know any other
Word Processor with great graphics capability. Do you?

Bob Buckland ?:-\)

Word has the ability to add different end types
(arrows, ballw, etc) to lines.

It also has the ability to align objects with each other,
and to layout on or snap to a user defined grid.

It can also create an arc from the autoshape collection
but it is not intended to be a CAD or diagramming package
(NS Office Visio is the diagramming app of the Office app
family.

Not quite sure what type of query feauture you're interested
in related to drawing capability.
