jpg image get lines at left and top in word on windows 7

Andre

I included about 25 jpg images in a document. Everything looks fine. Save the
document and reopen it: most of the images have a line at the left and top
sides. The lines seem actually added to the images (save as html and look at
the image files in the subfolder, these images have the lines added).

This only happens on Windows 7 (Home Premium 32 bits). The exact same Office
software installed on Windows XP does not have this problem. Installing SP1,
SP2 and all other updates makes no difference.

Seems a bug most likely in some routine in Windows 7 that Word uses?

Ditto.

I get this problem on fully patched Windows 7 x64 and Windows Server 2008 R2
machines with Office 2007 SP2 installed.

I did notice however that if I save the document as a *.doc file rather than
*.docx the black bars on the top and left sides do not appear.

I found a work around. If the jpg is saved in CMYK mode, Word doesn't draw the lines.

I hope Microsoft can help us out with a fix, since we would rather use RGB jpgs.
