The window which results from "Insert->Ref->cross-ref function" has a
selection list within it which provides the list of Figures, Bookmarks,
Pages, Paragraphs, etc. to choose from.
If you lose 'focus' from that window, when you give that window focus again,
your location within the list of items is lost .... it goes back to the first
item.
This is a real pain in the rear when you're trying to build tables with tens
or hundreds of cross-references in them. Instead of being able to work your
way down the reference list as you're working your way down the table you're
creating; you have to start at the top of the reference list each time you
bring focus back to the cross-reference window (even though you don't close
it).
Too late now for me, but MSFT ought to fix this in the future (or am I
doing something wrong??)
Thanks
