Improve Outlook performance - OST

User with outlook 2007 using outlook anywhere with broadband connection
complaining of sluggish performance.

He has a mailbox size of 3.7GB I have a 2GB mailbox same setup and spec's
with no issues.

Any ideas on how to improve the permformance. He wanted to archive email to
a .pst but then the data is removed from the server and will not be backed
up. so I am trying to find a solution.

My top 4 suggestion are this since you didn't mention operating system
and/or windows search...

1) Apply Office 2007 SP2 as it contains some serious performance
enhancements for Outlook

2) Exclude the .OST from any type of real-time antivirus scanning

3) Turn off the person tagging (see tools > options > other tab and make
sure the 2 boxes under person section at bottom is unchecked)

4) Defrag the hard drive
