I was sent an email regarding a team event. The email contained two voting
buttons labled: "Yes, I will attend" and "No, I will not attend." After
clicking the "Yes..." button, I sent the response (without editing) whereupon
the original message widnow was activated. I noticed that the header of the
email read: "You responded Yes, I will attend on Thursday October 14, 2004
9:28 AM."
I thought to myself, what?!! that's today! the meeting is today?? It was
then I realized that depending on the wording of the voting buttons, the
header can be misinterpreted because the voting button text is not delimited.
Perhaps Outlook can be improved by placing the voting button text in
quotation marks so as to read: You responded "Yes, I will attend" on Thursday
October 14, 2004 9:28 AM.
Or perhaps the clauses in the sentence can be re-arranged so as to read: On
Thursday October 14, 2004 9:28 AM, you responded Yes, I will attend.
Thanks,
