I just purchased Office Home and Student 2007. when i contacted Online MS
through phone, they said I can install this software officially in 3 systems.
(ie 3 desktops or laptops OR 2 desktops and one laptop or vice versa) Is
it true. Is this information is available in Microsoft website?

It's in the EULA (End User License Agreement) that came with your software.
If you open up (say) Word, click on the Office button, (the pizza thing), go
to Word Options at the bottom, click on Resources, click on "about" opposite
"about MS Word", you get a link to view the Licence.

You were given the correct information on the phone for the retail version.
The complete terms for the Retail Home & Student version can be found here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...C4-FA3A-4F9F-82B6-CBCD6108A980&displaylang=en

This leads to an executable file that is a self-extracting archive,
containing pdf and xps versions of the EULA. For the retail version of Home
& Student, among other things, it says:

a. Licensed Device. You may install one copy of the software on three
licensed devices in your household for use by people who reside there.
The software is not licensed for use in any commercial, non-profit, or
revenue-generating business activities.

Your certificate of authenticity will contain one of three sets of letters
designating which version you have:

FPP - Retail version. One copy on three licensed devices.

OEM - Comes with a licensed device. It's permanently assigned to that
device, and cannot be installed on any other device.

MLK - permanently assigned to the device on which you acquired the license.
It cannot be installed on any other device.
