In MS Access cannot open vb editor. It opens ok in last backup.

This has happened twice. I can go back to the last backup but I still lose
time. Is there a known cause so I can avoid future repetitions.

Using Access 2003 w/SP1.

I tried to compress and repair the database. It functions ok but VB editor
still does not open
