In MS office I cannot save an open file using the save as option

In MS Word and MS Excel every time I try to save a file under the save as
option I get a message that "Save as is not responding" and my system locks
up requiring me to "End the program"

Any suggestions? please e-mail same to [email protected]

Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop,
left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect any mapped
drives that are not currently available.

Thanks. I've been having my computer lock-up everytime I go to save as in
any Word document. If you have time and don't mind, why did disconnecting an
unused network drive correct the problem? If I don't hear from you, thanks
again.
