in MS Picture Mgr some jpg pix are grey as thumbnails

I use MS Picture Manager to organize all my JPG photos, and to do basic photo
editing. Today it started showing grey or partially grey images in
thumbnails, but it shows the correct image in the Preview Pane and as a
Single Image. Until yesterday, it showed those same thumbnails correctly.

Yesterday I made copies of many of those images, then edited the copies in
PaintShop Pro v9. But I left the original images alone. Thumbnails of
edited & unedited images are affected.

I can display all the images correctly as thumbnails in Windows Explorer,
but MS Picture Manager has trouble with them.

I use MS Office 2003 and WinXP Home. I have 1.5Gb RAM and lots of free
disc space. I tried Repairing MS Office but the problem persists.

Can you help?

TIA

Ralph

Find the OIS folder and delete the thumbnails. Does this help?
The thumbnails are in a folder similar to this (hidden)
Vista
C:\Users\<<name>>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OIS\thumbnails
Windows XP
C:\Documents and Settings\<<user>>\Application
Data\Local\Microsoft\OIS\thumbnails
