Inactivate or Deactivate users in ERP

Using MSP2003ENT

I user that are part of a project and the ERP leave the company for any
reason what would be the best way to remove them. Go into modify accounts
and change there account status to "inactive" or just deactivate user from
(User) page? Also keep in mind that these users were and still might be
active in a project...

Thanks

To preserve the historical record of the Actual Work performed by the
resource, you should inactivate the resource rather than delete the
resource. Either method you describe will inactivate the resource.
WARNING: Before you inactivate the resource, you must get all of your PMs
to reassign the resource's Remaining Work to one or more other resources in
all of their projects. Otherwise, they will get a warning dialog EVERY TIME
they open an enterprise resource. Once you have confirmed that all
Remaining Work is reassigned to active resources, you can safely inactivate
the resource who left the company. Hope this helps.
