Inbound emails are landed in another folder

Hello

Outlook 2002.

I have a user whose received emails go to a different folder instead of the
Inbox folder. Please advise if there is a way to alter the Registry to
correct this.

Thanks

Best

The registry has got nothing to do with this. Check which rules are
configured.

Hi Best,

The new emails go to another folder instead of the Inbox folder may be caused by the rules or the email account setting. Follow the
steps below to check it and correct it.

#1 Check the rules
==========
1. In Outlook 2002, click the Tools menu > Rules and Alerts.
2. In the Rules tab, is there any rule which will rule the new messages to another folder?
3. If so, remove the rules accordingly.

#2 Check the email account setting
==========
1. In Outlook 2002, click the Tools menu > Email Accounts.
2. Click Next.
3. Highlight each email account, in the field of 'Deliver new email to the following location', set the folder which contains the default
Inbox folder so that all the new emails are saved in the correct Inbox folder.

If it still doesn't work, create a new Outlook profile to fix it.

#3 New Outlook profile
===========
1. Quit Outlook. Go to Start menu > Control Panel > Mail, click Show Profiles¡
2. Select the "Prompt for a profile to be used" check box. Click Add¡
3. Type the profile name as "new outlook profile", click Ok.
4. Select Add a new e-mail account, click Next. Follow the wizard to configure your account in the new profile
5. After you restart Outlook, choose the new profile.
6. Send a new test email to itself and test the issue again. What is the result?

If anything is unclear or if you have any other concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Emily Lin
