The field line contains the Date and decending\ascending fields only. I
clicked on Reset Current View and this is the view that appeared. When I went
to customize view everything looks normal. How can this be changed back to
the from, subject, received and date............

Your current view's default has been modified, so resetting it won't work.
Reset all of Outlook's views to their defaults by starting Outlook once with
the /cleanviews command switch.
