inbox repair tool scanpst.exe on vista ultimate for outlook 2007

I have tried everything suggested on the forum and still could not find the
file scanpst.exe Very frustrating. Any suggestions?

I have tried ProgramFiles/MicrosoftOffice/Office12 and then I was looking for
inbox repair tool in Microsoft Office Tool and came up with nothing

Russ, I was able to locate the scanpst file but I don't know which file shuld
I use for scanning

That would depend on what problem you are having, which you have yet to
state. You can find which file your current version of Outlook is using by
examining the properties of your root folder in Outlook.

The problem was stated as follows: Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook.
Cannot open the Outlook Windows. The set of folders cannot be open. Errors
have been in the file:
C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst

I scan this file and it worked.

To solve this problem I followed these steps:

1. I located the scanpst file for my Vista 64 bit using C:\Program Files
(x86)\Microsoft Office\Office12 Make sure you choose the right file to locate
scanpst.exe (for details go to http://www.msoutlook.info/question/77)

2. I clicked on scanpst file and when asked which file should be scanned, I
put C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst

3. Follow the instructions. It worked.

The problem was stated as follows: Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook.

Just a side note - you should never use the Administrator account as the
normal login for working on a computer.

Thanks for posting this item. I have been having the same problem and did not
know how to correct it. Russ Valentine's rather terse response didn't help at
all. Your post told me where to find the program (scanpst.ext) and where to
find the data file. All that worked great and now I am not getting the
message every time Outlook starts.

PST problems can take place due to various reasons such as virus infections, internal registry problems, and more. but Inbox Repair Tool is effective to resolve the issues. but as you mentioned that you have already tried allthose, then rather than opting to another program you have no option.
