include a shortcut to a calendar event in the contact section

I have a shortcut in the note section of my contacts to a birthday; however,
I don't know how it got there but would like to create other shortcuts to
birthdays and anniversaries. How do I do that?

Adding a birthday or anniversary to the appropriate fields on the Details
tab and then saving the contact record should put the reminders on the
Calendar.
