Include resource in master & use in sub

P

PS

Hi Everybody,
I've heard that it's better to include resources
(people) in a master project instead of including in every project.
So, I created projects for various modules & then created a master
project out of it. Now, when I went for adding resources (using
Tool>Build Team From Enterprise), it added the resource in the master
project, but not in the sub-projects. How should I make it to work for
the sub-projects.

TIA,
PS.

PS,
You will have to add resources (using > Tool>Build Team From Enterprise) to
every sub-project!.
The problem is for Project Server 2003 version which duplicated resources
assignments if you published the master project. So don't publish the
master, only the sub-projects in 2003. This issue has been corrected in
2007.

Hope this helps,

Thanks a lot Gerard for a quick reply.
BTW, I am sorry I forgot to mention that I am using Project 2007. So,
now is there a solution for it in Project 2007 or it's the same thing
like Project 2003.

Thanx again,
PS.

PS

There is no point in building a team on the master project unless you
intend to create work assignments within the master. Each inserted
plan must be self sufficient and that is where you use the build team
function. I suspect the advice you have relates to creating shared
resource pool plans. These are not appropriate in an EPM environment.

In PS 2007 like PS 2003, you have to build the team of each sub-project :
Tool>Build Team From Enterprise
But with 2007 you are able to publish the master project without any danger!
