Including Appendixes in TOC

After getting very helpful instructions from Bruce, I now have my appendix headings and pagination working as they should be. However, I cannot get the TOC to pick up the Heading 7 that I assigned to the appendix headings. I followed directions listed in KB Article 290953 (Building a Customized Table of Contents) and assigned TOC Level 1 to the Heading 7 style, but the TOC still will not generate correctly. In fact, each time I go to the Table of Contents "Options" window, Heading 7 is blank, even though I keep putting the 1 in the TOC Level box. Can anyone help?

Making changes in the dialog box should work, but it won't
remain if you later re-visit the dialog box. Instead, the
proper way is to make the change once and then *update*
the TOC. In order to update the TOC, display the context
menu -- which, assuming that your mouse is setup for right-
hand users, is done by right-clicking the TOC -- and then
choose 'Update'. Perform this update procedure each time
the TOC needs to pick up new information, that is, new or
modified headings.

Does this help?

Just pressing F9 while in the TOC will also bring up the Update dialog.

I used Bruce Brown's suggestion (listed in the thread "Numbering appendixes") and it solved my problem.
