Incoming email format stuck on plain text

All of my incoming email will only display in plain text
format regardless of its format at source.

How can I switch my default to html for INCOMING email?
The format menu is grayed out with plain text checked. I
am unable to select html.

Uninstalling and reinstalling outlook and office makes no
difference.

Any help much appreciated.

Do you have any spamfilters or add-ins installed that could cause this? You
can disable add-ins in Tools-> Options-> tab Other-> button Advanced
Options...
