Incoming mail going to deleted item folder?

For some reason or another after doing some updates, my e-mail messages are
going into my deleted items folder instead of the inbox folder. How can I fix
this?

I set up rules only after this started. Is there away of going in and setting
every thing back to default? The rules that is?
I haven't changed anything other than that. I only changed due to this
problem! Is that what the problem could be though?
Thanks for your help, this is really frustrating!

Do you have an antivirus program scanning your incoming e-mail messages?
Perhaps it's deleting them.
