Incoming Telephone Caller Id Recognition - (Re-posting)

responses so I am trying again here. Hope this does not contravene any
protocol.)


There is a familiar technology which allows a PC user to be interrupted
by an incoming telephone call by the displaying of an appropriate form
giving the callers details recognised from.


Can someone please tell me where to source suitable hardware to provide
this facility with (not surprisingly) suitable Access compatible
software (presumably a software interface provided by the hardware
vendor) such that I can modify an existing Access application to provide
this facility.

N.B. We will be implementing this within the UK so hardware would have
to be suitable. But I would be pleased to check out any websites for
vendors from other countries to ask if they have UK kit.

Robin there are tons of seperate external devices supporting Caller ID.
Many of these have interfaces for Visual Basic that you would be able to
use directly with Access. I would image some newer modems support this
feature as well.
