Incompatible date format in MPX file!!!

Hi There!

We need to read a planning from Primavera P3 into MS Project2000UK. The P3 planner created an export file in MPX-format, but we cannot load this file because of the different date formats used in the file (american style MM/DD/YY) and by P2K running under WinNT Dutch (set to default DD/MM/YY).
Because this file is a quite large one and these dates appear somehow everywhere in all those diferent kinds of records, we need to convert these dates using a program or something like that.
We tried using Excel, importing a "csv" file, but Excel "thinks" it knows how to handle this and convert date-looking data into the wrong dates (02/05/03 into 2-may-03 instead of 5-feb-03).

Is there anybody with some handy trick and/or tip while importing, something we perhaps could have overlooked... OR: maybe there is someone who has some nice little handy program, ready to handle an ASCII file.

Best Regards and
Many thanks in advance!!!

Hi Luc,

Did you try to change the regional settings of Windows (from US to European
or the reverse)?

No Jan, I did not, because all important setting are protected and not
user-changeable.
I can give it a try using my own machine at home...

Bedankt!
