I just launced this site a couple days ago:
http://home.comcast.net/~p51bombay/index.htm
Apparently some users have to scroll to the right to view
the entire page and I would like to correct this. I
built it on a 1400 pixel wide table with the 250 pixel
wide blue border on the right meant to be cut off in
lower resolutions but apparently substantially more is
being cut off depending on the users resolution and
screen size so they must scroll right to view it.
So the question is, what should be changed to make it
more viewable for a wider range of users? I would think
that the older, lower resolutions are getting few and far
between, but perhaps I am misjudging how many people are
still using older equipment. What is the most common
resolution these days?
I played around with building the table using % instead
of pixels, but it doesn't seem to work with photos, text
boxes, etc that are positioned absolutely....I never
really wanted the text boxes, but couldn't figure out how
to keep things in place without them........how do I do
that?
Thanks
