Increasing the count of a autonumber field that is linked

Hi,


I have a mysql table linked to an access table. However, I loose the
autonumber property when I link the tables. In MS ACCESS it appears just as
a number. This becomes a problem when an user is adding more records and
they have to manually add the next number. How can I automate this to happen
for both tables and forms?
I would really appreciate any help or guidence with this.
