Hi all,

My project no longer view tasks and summary task as hierarchical. Eventhough
I still can collapse and expand tasks, it showed up as flat tasks. However,
if I click print preview, they show up perfectly fine.

Any new project works fine, but all existing ones they all opened as flat
tasks.

I tried detect & repair, uninstall and reinstall, they don't seem to fix it.
I am using Project Professional + SP2.

Thanks.

Chee Lam,
Go Tools/Options/View tab. My guess is that someone unchecked the option
at the bottom of the Options window to "Indent name" for the file that
no longer shows hierarchy indentation. Check that option and you should
be all set.

And now even all new project or the one from templates, all the tasks and
summary tasks no longer display as hierarchical.

Hey thanks John.
Actually I have reviewed many posts and forums. The checkbox is checked.

My guess is mostly it happened to laptop users when the laptop is plugged
into projector or docking station that has additional screen output. If the
external display unit (projector or monitor) does not have the same screen
resolution or set with different display property, that 's when all the
hierarchy lost and all tasks will aligned to the left.

The resolution was undock the notebook or unplug the projector. If it does
not help, close project and reboot machine.
