indentation tab marks on page

i am using word since long but today my word files are
opening with L shaped marks on all corners (at margin's
tab). How can i get rid of them

Go to Start | Programs | Microsoft Office Tools | Microsoft Office <version>
Language Settings and disable support for Asian languages.

Thank you programmers of Microsoft Office for allowing users to chat like this. If it wasn't for this, then, I wouldn't have figured out how to get rid of those annoying L's. But, I do have one question: "Is is possible to have support for Asian languages and also not have those L shaped marks?
