Indenting Bulleted Lists

Hi,
in a moment of frustration during which my document kept trying to put
bullets where I didn't want them, I seem to have messed up the
settings.
Now if I try to make a bulleted list (just by clicking on bullets in
the toolbar, or going Format-->bulleted list), I do get the bullets,
but I also get a problem. If I try to indent some list items, the
text moves over but the bullet does not.
This used to work just fine, so I seem to have made an error
somewhere. Can anyone help?

If you're using Word 2008 go to Tools> AutoCorrect - AutoFormat As You Type
& restore the check for "Tabs & backspace set left indent". If that doesn't
correct it or if you're not using 2008 you'll need to supply a more thorough
description including complete OS X & Office version info.
