Indenting tasks

When I indent tasks to make them subtasks of the task above them, multiple
other, unselected tasks indent themselves all over the schedule. I have the
Project sorted by a text column (crew). When I try to indent those tasks
assigned to that crew, I loose the sort.

Jack,
Tasks in Project are organized in outline form as they are initially
entered in sequence. When a file is filtered or sorted the visual
presentation is only that - a customized view. The basic structure still
exists as originally entered (unless tasks are permanently renumbered).
Attempting to indent a sorted or filtered view will result in unexpected
results as you have seen. My suggestion is to do file structuring
(indent/outdent) on a fully exploded file with Task IDs in normal
sequence. Then apply the sort or filtering as desired.

Hope this helps.
