Index File lno longer listed in folders, but is in navigation view

My website is posting all of the pages of website, not the actual website.
When I called my host they said that I did not have a index.html file and
that was the problem. That I needed to re-name my main home page as a
index.html file. When I look on my navigation view, I can see my home page
with the index.html name. When I look on my folder view I cannot find that
page any longer. All of the other pages are there, just not the index or
main page. The side bar no longer lists all of the other pages, just the
name of the home page, which I can no longer find in the folder view. I am
not great at using Frontpage...I am in desperate need of help, I have been
trying to work on it while fielding phone calls that there is something wrong
with my website..

What is the file name (not the nav view name) of your home page file
- it will also have a home icon in it in Folder View or Folder List
(rename that file to index.html)
