indexing public folders - how?

I've just installed Outlook 2007 on w7-64bit (moving from XP).
We use "offline folders" (NOT cached exchange mode) for offline work.

I've lost the ability for search to find items in my offline public folders.
Works perfectly in everything but public folders.
always worked in XP with the same settings ("offline folders / NOT cached
exchange mode)

any ideas?

Have you tried deleting and rebuilding the index?
