John --
Consider the following three projects and the resources assigned to each
project:
Project A: Mickey Cobb, Steve Garcia, Marcia Bickel, Vic Merchant
Project B: Mickey Cobb, Steve Garcia, Sarah Baker, Terry Uland
Project C: Gary Howard, Myrta Hansen, Sarah Baker, Terry Uland
Project A has a "direct" relationship with Project B, sharing Mickey Cobb
and Steve Garcia as common resources. Project B has a "direct" relationship
with Project C, sharing Sarah Baker and Terry Uland as common resources.
Because Project A has a direct relationship with Project B through two
resources, and Project B has a direct relationship with Project C through
two other resources, then Project A is described as having an "indirect"
relationship with Project C. Hope this helps.

Can anyone define what is meant by the catagory "indirect relationship"
that appears in the Relationship column when you are building a model. Most,
but not all, of the projects in the portfolio are catagorized that way and
we have been unable to determine a common thread that would explain it or
explain those that have been excluded. Anybody know the conditions that
would have to be met to be considered in that catagory?
