Infopath 2007/2003 compatibility

My company is still using Office 2003, so I've used InfoPath 2003 to design a
form that posts to SharePoint (I believe version 2007; I'm on the business
side, so I have limited access to technical information)...To make a long
story short, the promoted properties I established in the form upload to my
library, but the columns come in as text fields, so I can't use the [Me]
filter, which is critical.

I have searched every board imaginable and can't find a sensible solution. I
was wondering if I bought a copy of InfoPath 2007 for just desktop and
converted the form and uploaded would everyone else on my site be able to
open it up with InfoPath 2003? I thought this might be the best solution
since it seems apparent the data connections and promotions work more
seamlessly in 2007 than 2003.

My concern is how everything will integrate since I will have the only copy
of InfoPath 2007 in the firm.

Any advice is greatly appreciated
