Infopath 2007 data connection for email problem

Hello all,

I am searching all over the internet and seems no one get the same issue. I
am usign SharePoint2007 and Infopath 2007. I created a web enabled infopath
form with secondary data connection for email. When I open the form from the
browser within a sharepoint list, everything is fine as normal. However, when
i click submit to send the form as email, I got this error, "An error occured
while the form was being submitted". I know it is not descriptive, but this
is all i get.

I tried to play around with all the combinations of the setting and still
can't send an email. I am just wondering if there is any general setting that
prevent me from sending email within the sharepoint site?

Can anyone shed some light? I really spent a lot of time and so frustrated.
I know I can write the C# code and using the Mailmessage object. But so far
my form doesn't need any code, I can use all the built in functions to
satisfy my need. If I write any code, the pulishing and testing process will
be very long and I can't stand it. We need the form to be approved by site
admin and activate to the site afterward. It is just crazy, too long.

Thanks,

Kev

I solved it. As what I said, I need to configure sharepoint outgoing mail
function. Thx

Hello,

I was wondering if I can get more information about how you solved your problem. I am trying to set up an Infopath form which requires users to input attachments and email addresses. This would be uploaded to a SharePoint site to start the workflow (got this part down fine). However, I also want the function of a copy of the form (along with attachments) going to the email address inputted in the form when the user hits submit.
Is that at all possible? It seems like I have to pick either uploading to a SharePoint Library or sending out as an email, but I can't have both.
