I
InfoPath as a Report Generator
Hi,
I'm evaluating InfoPath as a tool to solve the following and I'm not sure if
it is designed to do what we need as it seems to be primarily a form/data
collection tool.
1. We need to retrieve data from a SQL database containing multiple rows
of data (tables) and single rows of data (sections), and provide insert /
update / delete row functionality at the same time. Some forms will need
the data to dynamically change depending on a value in a dropdown list.
Is complex dynamic form control programming possible?
2. The forms ultimately need to be merged together by user selection and
then converted to PDF to create a report.
Can forms be merged at run-time?
Will page numbering be handled?
Will line-breaks be automatically created in Rich Text controls that contain
table elements, so that tables will not be divided among 2 pages?
Can the forms be converted to PDF?
TIA,
Patricia
