InfoPath between Windows and Mac

Ben Ling

My company will run Exchange Server 2003 soon. Then we got InfoPath to
create forms and hope everything will be more organize in future. But some
of our employees are using Mac machine. They can get the form from server,
but they can't fill it or open it. So, if we have both Windows and Mac users
in our company, and we also want to use those forms which create by
InfoPath.......then what can we do? Anyone can give me some suggestoin?
Someone told me to use ASP.NET to create web form. Is that the only way to
solve this problem?

I hope someone can help. Thanks very much!!!

I think your only solution is to run InfoPath in a Windows-emulator on the
Mac (Virtual PC or something).

Jeff, are you mainly interested in viewing or editing, or both?

It's Ben's question; not mine, but Patrick has a point. View-only access is
available a number of ways. The built-in way is through the InfoPath SDK
XDown tool.

Read/write to forms is only available through the InfoPath product as far as
I know.

If you want a platform-independant solution, you should look at using
ASP.NET (web forms) or open-source tools instead of InfoPath.

If you're just interested in getting your Mac users working with InfoPath, I
think you should run InfoPath withinVirtual PC on their Macs.

Honestly, if I want to setup InfoPath for the company. Of course I hope
everyone can fill and view the form. Then they can exchange or send to
different department.

As I know InfoPath files is easy to change to web page format.

I also think about to use ASP.NET to create web base form. But it takes
time for me to play with it, and I also feel the form's interface doesn't as
good looking as InfoPath. Ha! Ha!

So, seems install Virtual PC in Mac users' machine is the best way. Anyway,
THANKS JEFF & PATRICK!!!! Thanks for you guys suggestions. If you still
have more suggestion or idea, please tell me more. THANKS VERY MUCH!!!!!
