I am trying to design an InfoPath 2007 form in the designer based on a set of
XSD's. These XSD's are accessible from http://www.witsml.org or I can always
e-mail them to anyone who is interested.
Anyways I am creating a form based on obj_opsReport.xsd and I am augmenting
the data in the customData field by using add field in the designer based of
an XSD obj_wells.xsd. Here are the problems.
1. If I run through the wizard screens one after another nothing happens.
2. If I choose to go back after passing the schema file selection dialog and
agreeing to using the already imported schema documents in the xsn and then I
hit next again from the dialog it will add the obj_wells. but......
If I then save the xsn and close it I cannot open it as a form or back in
the designer.
My foray into the technical reason behind this seems to be a result of the
following. Any custom data I add into the obj_opsReport.xsd element must
have a reference to the element obj_reports.xsd otherwise InfoPath does not
hook up properly. But I am not sure if this is the case or just a wild guess
on my part.
