Infopath cannot save the form

I am trying to save an Infopath 2003 form to a MOSS 2007 form library I have
full control of the site, form library and file. I check out the file, click
to edit, make my changes and click to save - upon saving I get the error
message:

InfoPath cannot save the form.
InfoPath cannot save a file with the following name because another file
with that name is still open:
<filename here>

I have cleared my template cache - I cannot find anywhere on the internet
where this behavior is documented.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Di you get any message like "Do you want to open form in Read only" while
opening the form?
