Infopath workflow without SharePoint

Big Mac

We are investigating the user of Infopath to replace word forms.
Unfortunately management wont let us use the Trial SharePoint we have to
manage infopath (don't ask!!!).
Can Infopath forms have workflows without SharePoint?
Can they be browser enabled without SharePoint?
We are currently on Office 2003 but could possibly get 2007 for the forms
developers but would need the outputs to be read by 2003 users. Is this
possible?

Thanks in advance for your time

Hey Big Mac,
I'll do my best to answer all questions for you
1: Yes you can create InfoPath 2003 Compatible Forms using InfoPath 2007
2: While you can in theory apply workflow to your forms without SharePoint
you would still need some sort of workflow product to manage this, e.g. WF
or BizTalk, theses may suffice but will be more expensive than the workflow
options included with SharePoint
3: You cannot render InfoPath 2003 forms via the browser this is a new
feature for InfoPath 2007, and SharePoint 2007. While it is possible to
purchase InfoPath Form Services separately it is not recommended, not to
mention not as cost effective as to purchase and enterprise license of
SharePoint.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Thanks Ben
This is as I suspected but I have a manager that has a thing against
SharePoint - even thought we have sharepoint in the company it is not
supported by IT?????. So we may have to spend on yet another product to use
the workflow
Cheers!
