Ink entry disappears without text appearing

When filling out Infopath desgined form Ink entry does not convert to
text--just disappears . What have I done wrong or missed?

I don't have a tablet, and haven't ever used ink in InfoPath -- but I'm wondering if it is an application setting or an operating system setting.

Is InfoPath the only app that performs this way?
