Ink in message

I am trying to configure Outlook 2003 Sp1 to work with digital ink on my
tablet PC . I can insert the ink without a problem, but it is not preserved
after I send the e-mail -I do not even see it in the message in sent items.
Other artwork works fine. Am I missing something, or is this a bug?
