Input mask for formal source info (author, edition number etc.)

Instant Source Documentation (ISD)

Scientific writing mainly rests upon citing secondary sources. The formally
correct mention of a source used requires specific knowledge of citing
conventions which are hard to retain and which have to be looked up again and
again. (To get an idea of this go to: google - Taschenbuch Linguistik - sixth
entry on the hitlist.) The solution might be a window which can be opened
while writing:

Cite from:
book
magazine
newspaper
internet
other sources

If one openes "newspaper", for example, an input mask appears that questions
all relevant source information to fill in (author, editor, edition number,
date of release etc.). From the input the ISD function generates
automatically a mention of source at the cursor position and an alphabetic
entry in the bibliography on the last page.

Advantages:
- Users could concentrate on contents
- Productivity increases to the same extent that effort is lowered
- Negligence in source documentation is reduced when it can done without
effort

Google continually updates it rankings. Furthermore, there are location
based influences and other things. As a result, there is only a slim chance
that your 6th entry is actually anyone else 6th entry by now. Either provide
a direct link, or don't bother.

So basically you are describing the citation and bibliography feature
available in Word 2007, 2008 (Mac), and 2010.

If you know XSLT, you can actually write your own style for Word.
