Insert and modifying graphics

I sometimes have a difficult time moving a graphic once I
have imported it. I can't reselect it to reposition it,
plus I can't seem to place it exactly where I want it. I
use my arrow keys, but it moves the graphic everywhere but
where I want it. Any suggestions?

Click on the image or graphic, the Picture Toolbar should appear. Click the
Text Wrapping Icon (Dog Icon), select "Tight". You will be able to move the
graphic through the document.

If you have Word XP there is an option in Tools + Options
+ Edit tab to Insert/Paste pictures as: Choose the
option In front of text. That will let you place the
image anywhere you like. I think this was also in 2000.
If not try right clicking your image and choosing Picture
Toolbar. On here choose to Wrap the image In front of
text.

Hope this helps

There are two modes of graphic insertion - in line, where the graphic
behaves like a font character - and in the graphics layer where it floats
free of the text, its interaction determined by the wrap setting.

You can move the former - imagine it as a large letter - just like any other
text. The latter you can drag around, but if it is behind text, you will
need the white arrow tool on the drawing toolbar to select it.
