Insert Comment into Protected Sheet

If I protect my sheet, I'm unable to add comments to any cell, even I
uncheck 'Locked' from that cell.

Hi Jeff
in Excell 2002+ you also have to check 'Edit/Insert Objects' in the
protection dialog

Jeff,

If using Excel 2000 you can uncheck the Objects box when
protecting your worksheet.

This still protects the contents of the Locked cells but
enables you to change any comments
