insert feilds in footer to showing name of section

This is what I want to do. I have a title page for example "Section I
Validation" (stlye header 1) and would like this to be in the footer of each
page of this section. Then another title for the next part of the doc.
Where I worked at before they had it set up so that you did not have to type
in the title for each section into the footer it was somehow link using
feilds. Does anyone know i can do this? I do not have to use fields if
there is a better way.
