insert header

You don't - at least not easily. Excel was not designed for 'pretty'
printing
I expect a VBA sub could print page 1; delete the header; and then print
other pages.
Or: makes links to a Word doc and do the header stuff there.
best wishes

What office program (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.) and version
(..., 97, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2007) do you want to print headers for page 1
only?

You'll be forgiven if you send me money! <G>

Seriously:
Excel is part of Office so you're neither trespassing nor off topic.

It depends on the version. Excel 2007 now has Different First Page and
Different Odd and Even Pages options in the Page Setup dialog box. :)

Too bad the OP is using Excel 2002.
