"Insert Hyperlinks" Causes Front Page To Crash

Ron G.

When using the "Insert Hyperlinks" feature, you can
usually double-click on folders to browse to the file you
want to create a hyperlink to ... now the program locks
up when trying to browse.

Any ideas what might be causing this problem?

Thanks.

It's probably the meta data in the browse window that's corrupted.

Try removing temporary internet files, clearing out anything in the
"frontpagetempDIR" folder.

Sometimes, you can find a yacked up meta-tag in one of the files...
unfortunately that's hard to find. (Publish to a sub web first, then do the
same thing, if the behavior is duplicated it's meta-data... if not, its
corrupted cache on your computer.)

Actually, after years of dealing with this issue, I think I just figured it
out.

Look for a file with carriage returns in a meta-keywords or meta-description
tag. Either remove the tag entirely or just the carriage return and the
problem should go away.
